NLA whip Somchai Sawangkarn believes election bills will pass, and enable voting by next February. NLA whip spokesman Jate Siratharanon said they are expected to be taken to the NLA for deliberation on March 8. After the NLA passed the bills last month, they were sent to the CDC and EC to study. The NLA rewrote a significant portion of the Senate bill and this formed the core basis of the legislation. The Senate selection process will be held at the district, provincial and national levels.
